How to Unlock Bootloader of SONY Xperia SOLA – Tutorial

 


Xperia SOLA, one of the newest smartphones launched by SONY can now be installed with the latest custom ROM firmwares. But now before you could do that, the first step you need to do is to unlock the boot loader and in the due course of this article we will be checking out on how you can unlock the bootlaoder with simple instructions. As of now there is no Official ICS Android 4.0 firmware update for Xperia SOLA but yes, there are many leaked versions which you can choose from.
Over a period of this article, we will be checking out a detailed list of pre requisites you need to follow along with the detailed guide in the next page. The procedure which we will be explaining about the boot loader unlock is the Official way which SONY has come up with.

Warranty Information: Once the bootloader is unlocked, the warranty will get void. The only way with which you can get back the lost warranty is by re locking the bootloader  for which we will be coming out with the article.
Pre Requisites:
•    Before proceeding, you need to ensure that all the data is backed up easily so that just in case if the data get backed up, the same can be restored easily. It’s not recommended to back up the data using the PC Suite as it may or may not detect the current firmware. With the help of below mentioned tools, you can backup / restore the data.
Notes – Backup in the mail so that you can then restore manually
SMS Messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts Stored in Phone Memory – Sync with the Gmail application,
Videos, Images, Videos & Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
•    Minimum charge left in the device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
•    Disable all the security suites installed in your computer and uninstall all antivirus tools in your computer so as to ensure that the firmware update is not interrupted in the middle of the process.
•    Enable the USB Debugging in your Xperia SOLA from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked.

•    Dial *#06# to show  up the IMEI number in your phone and then you need to note down the same so that just in case in an unlikely event if the IMEI number gets lost, the same can be easily restore the same.
Procedure to Unlock the Boot loader of Xperia SOLA Android Phone:
•    First up you need to visit Sony Ericsson Xperia Sola Boot loader page and then on the page on the boot loader page, click on the “Continue” button which is located at the bottom of the page after which you will be presented with “Are you really sure?” prompt. Read the prompt & if you agree, click “Yes, I sure”.
•    Up next you will need to enter the 14 digits of IMEI number of your Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo minusing the last digit, you name along with the email address.
•    After this you will be given the unlock code, write it down as you now need to enter the below mentioned command in the terminal.
fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
•    The “KEY” in the above command should be replaced with the key which you have got. If the above command fails to get processed, you need to ensure that the phone is connected well and also you need to ensure that the charge left in the device is minimum of 50% or else the phone won’t be able to generate the key.


How to Unlock Bootloader of Sony Ericsson Xperia P – Tutorial



SONY Ericsson Xperia P smartphone can now be installed with many custom ROM firmwares and in the due course of the article we will be checking out on how one can unlock the boot loader. Boot loader unlocking will enable the one to root and install the custom recovery images in Xperia P. Pre Requisites:

•    Dial *#06# in your phone to get the IMEI number. Note it down at the safe place as it may be required at a later stage.
•    All the data in your Xperia P should be backed up as there is a probability that it may get corrupted or wiped off. With the help of below steps, you can manually backup the data.

•    From the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” enable the USB Debugging in your Xperia P. USB Debugging Option should be ticked.
•    Disable all the tools like Firewall and Antivirus in your computer so as to make sure that it doesn’t interrupt the process of boot loader unlock.
Now, assuming that all the above conditions are followed, you can now proceed to the next page where we have summed up the detail instructions to unlock the boot loader.
Procedure to unlock the Boot loader of SONY Xperia P:
•    Visit Sony Ericsson Xperia P Boot loader pagein your computer and then click on he “Continue” option at the bottom of the page. Up next you will get a pop up showing the message “Are you really sure?” prompt. Read the prompt & if you agree, click “Yes, I sure”.
•    Open the terminal window in your computer and then you need to enter the below mentioned command and now ensure that the Xperia P to the computer
fastboot -i 0x0fce getvar version
•    After this, enter the IMEI of your Xperia P device for which you need to unlock the bootloader and then you need to enter the details like email address and name.
•    Up next you will get an unlock code which you need to enter in the below mentioned command by replacing the “KEY” with the IMEI number.
fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0Xkey
It’s very important to enter the correct IMEI number or else the whole process will have to be repeated.

 How to Unlock Bootloader of Sony Xperia U – Tutorial



SONY recently rolled out 3 new smartphones namely U, P & SOLA. In the due course of this article we will be checking out on what are how you can easily unlock the boot loader of SONYXperia U smartphone. Just in case if you are thinking that on what are the benefits of unlocking the boot loader, then we would like to tell you that once the bootloader is unlocked you can root the device, install the apps which need root access and also you can install the custom ROMfirmwares. Just in case if your device is already rooted, you need not unlock the boot loader as the device is already unlocked and installed with the custom ROM firmware.

•    Enter the IMEI of your Xperia P device for which you need to unlock the boot loader and then you need to enter the details like email address and name.
•    After this, you will now have to enter the below mentioned command and you need to ensure that the “KEY” is replaced with the IMEI number which you have got by dialing *#06#.
fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0Xkey
•    Ensure that the KEY which you have replaced with the IMEI is the correct IMEI number. After entering the above command in the command prompt, you need to then follow the on screen instructions so as to unlock the boot loader.
